We are currently seeking experienced Audit Seniors to join our growing team.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day to day activities of financial statement audits, reviews, compilations and special projects
  • Manage client engagements from start to finish, including managing the budget, planning, executing, directing staff and completing financial statements and audits
  • Take complete ownership of specific aspects of engagements and see them through to completion
  • Prepare and review workpapers for accuracy and completeness
  • Preparing all necessary financial statement and related disclosures and reportable conditions letters, with an eye on quality, thoroughness and accuracy
  • Ensure books and financials are in accordance with GAAP or other required accounting standards
  • Maintain and comply with the highest degree of professional standards and client confidentiality
  • Prepare tax returns
  • Identify and communicate technical matters to both clients and senior leaders
  • Perform research
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients
  • Mentor, train and supervise staff
  • Attend industry and networking events

 

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years independent audit experience in public accounting
  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA certification or in the process of obtaining CPA certification
  • Knowledge of auditing/tax standards to effectively supervise staff and solve routine engagement problem
  • Deep understanding of accounting and reporting standards
  • Experience with accounting software, ProSystem FX Engagement and ProSystem FX Tax preferred
  • Effective communication, research, analytical and writing skills

The Audit Staff Accountant will perform a broad range of accounting tasks with direct supervision of an in-charge accountant/manager. This individual will assist the senior accountant or in-charge in the development of audit strategy, planning, review and interpretation of audit findings for clients within government, not-for-profit, commercial, financial services and other industries.

Essential Duties

  • Develop a knowledge of auditing, accounting standards, and application of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Apply technical skills and on the job practices and business processes for clients.
  • Perform internal control testing, document deficiencies and develop comments for inclusion in management letters.
  • Perform risk assessment process, apply knowledge in completing all related forms.
  • Participate in preparation of financial report (statements, footnotes and any supplemental information).
  • Demonstrate an ability to take direction to ensure that assignment quality standards are achieved.
  • Express ideas clearly and concisely both orally and in written form and develop writing skills for document findings.
  • Plan, organize and work efficiently to identify opportunities to improve engagement profitability
  • Ensure job execution, documentation, consultation and completion in accordance with required policies and procedures.
  • Monitor one’s own engagement task budgets, be aware of out of scope work and proactively communicate potential issues to appropriate team member.
  • Actively participate in learning and development opportunities, formal learning (CPE) and training programs.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS/MS Accounting degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Must have 150 credit hours to satisfy the requirement to obtain CPA license.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of basic auditing, accounting standards and proficiency in related computer applications, as acquired through coursework or other training.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Ability to meet challenging client requirements, provide services and possess strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and research capabilities.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and make sound decisions and recommendations in client related matters pertaining to the audit.
  • Must be willing to travel locally to clients 80%+ of the time and have access to a car/public transportation

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review complex tax returns
  • Review tax returns prepared by other team members
  • Assist with tax audits
  • Serve as the primary contact for clients
  • Write articles for publication
  • Identify opportunities to contribute to the growth and development of the Firm
  • Support the development of staff by providing on the job training and constructive feedback
  • Participate in the Firm’s mentor program
  • Develop and conduct tax training seminars for staff
  • Participate in speaking engagements

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years tax experience in public accounting
  • Bachelor’s in Accounting
  • Master’s degree in Taxation preferred
  • Licensed CPA
  • Trust and Estates background a plus
  • Experience with ProSystem CCH Access preferred
  • Effective communication, research, analytical and writing skills
  • Efficiency with Microsoft Office a plus
