Mr. Murray, Managing Partner, has been with the Firm since 1977. He provides expert accounting, auditing, and tax advice to closely held companies and professional service entities such as engineering and law firms, medical practices, and advertising agencies. Mr. Murray is the Past Worldwide Chairman of BKR International, an affiliation of approximately 135 independent CPA firms located in principal cities worldwide. In addition, Mr. Murray is the Past President of the Suffolk County Chapter of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Mr. Murray began his professional career at AVZ and has extensive experience servicing the accounting needs of closely held companies, providing traditional services in accounting, auditing, and taxation. He assists closely held companies with income and estate tax planning and business succession planning. In connection with AVZ Wealth Management, LLC, Mr. Murray is a registered representative who has passed the FINRA Series 7 and NASAA Series 66 exams. He also holds a New York State Life and Health Insurance License.

Mr. Murray holds a Bachelor Degree in Accounting from Marist College. Mr. Murray lectures on various accounting and tax issues and writes articles for financial and local publications. In addition, he has served as “on-air expert” for both radio and television programs. Mr. Murray is the Past President and Member of the Board of Directors of Long Island Cares, Inc., a charitable organization that provides emergency food assistance to local families and sponsors community programs that help Long Islanders achieve self-sufficiency. He also is first Vice President and serves on the Board of Directors of Advancement for Commerce, Industry & Technology, a trade association that provides networking opportunities for influential Long Island business owners and is a Member of the Executive Advisory Board for Dowling College.
