Mr. McGrath has 37 years of professional experience, all of which are with the Firm. He provides accounting, auditing and management expertise to governmental, not-for-profit and closely held companies. Mr. McGrath is also responsible for quality control policies and procedures and the professional development of the Firm. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. In addition, he is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. In this capacity, he previously served on its Accounting and Auditing Procedures Committee for the New York State Society Nassau Chapter and frequently lectured on various accounting and auditing issues.
Mr. McGrath began his career with the Firm in 1973 while attending C.W. Post College - School of Professional Accountancy and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in 1976. He was admitted as shareholder in 1981. He has extensive experience with governmental and not-for-profit engagements, providing traditional services in accounting and auditing as well as guidance in accounting systems and controls, compliance auditing, budgeting and planning. Mr. McGrath continued his professional development in these areas and earned the Governmental Accounting and Auditing Certificate of Educational Achievement from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He also assists closely held companies with their financial, planning, and income tax needs. Mr. McGrath is a registered representative who has passed the FINRA Series 7 and NASAA Series 66 exams. He also holds a New York State Life and Health Insurance License.
He has served on the Advisory Board of South Side Hospital in his community and on the Workforce Investment Board for Oyster Bay-North Hempstead-Glen Cove. Mr. McGrath is also the past treasurer for the Great South Bay YMCA and Bayberry Beach and Tennis Club in his community.
