Hauppauge, NY–Effective June 1, 2009, John Shillingsford, CPA, was elected President of the Suffolk Chapter of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA). John has been with the Firm since 1996 and is active in youth soccer and youth baseball as well as treasurer for an investment club he established in 1990. In becoming President, John joins a line of AVZ Partners who have led the Suffolk Chapter in the past, including John Knox, Tom Murray and Bob Quarte. The NYSSCPA supports and contributes to worthy charities like Toys for Tots and facilitates educational and networking opportunities for its members.
